To celebrate the King’s Birthday, in October BRC crew adventured to climber’s paradise Brooyar for a long weekend of climbing and camping fun.
The Crag
Hidden within the hoop pine plantations of Brooyar State Forest, located northwest of Gympie, is South East Queensland’s premier climbing destination featuring distinct sandstone crags and sunset views. Renowned for overhung, pocketed, and sportingly bolted routes, it offers extensive sport, traditional, and multi-pitch climbing on grippy sandstone rock. Brooyar has a huge offering of great sport climbing spread across all grades, so there is something for everyone here whether your learning to lead or projecting those legendary hard pumpy routes.
