‪2014 so far‪‬

Well it's been a pretty good 2014 climbing wise. The start was a bit washed out but good weather at Brooyar in March brought out the hordes, with everyone getting lots of climbing under their belts. The Tibro weekend had to be cancelled due to the bushfires which turned the mountain into a shooting range, but all seems good now. A day trip to Frog was well attended with many 1st timers having a go at the joys of jamming :) ‬ ‪Easter saw the BRC at Nowra and Pt Perpendicular and all that can be said is ... awesome. We scored 2 perfect days at Pt Perp which was the highlight for most folk. Points go to a couple of the lads for totally shattering themselves by the end of 10 days. ‬ ‪A trip to Urbenville in May was cut short by rain, but 3 days at Brooyar in June made up for that. Always a fun crag to climb at.‬ ‪A trip to Viewpoint and Paparazzi on Mt Maroon last weekend (July 19-20) was well attended and all the newcomers to Mt Maroon were suitably impressed with the climbing, although the big walk in on both days raised the eyebrows of those who were used to easy access sport crags. It was satisfying to show adventure trad and sport climbing to the younger members of the club, have them enjoy it and want more.‬ ‪August sees a couple of more trips locally before another big trip to Arapiles in late September. Looking forward to it.‬ ‪Cheers‬ ‪Graham‬
