‪Blue Mts Trip - Easter 2013‪‬

Well all one can say is - A Very Successful 10 days of climbing. Everyone who went had a great time. We all got to do some awesome climbs, pushed our grades and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Not even some drizzle on 2 days stopped the climbing, as we climbed in the wet mist till it turned to rain then headed for the overhangs of Centennial Glen. The highlight for Julian, Nick , Ashley and myself was cruising Bunny Bucket Buttress, a grade 18, 270m 8 pitch climb at the uber Pierces Pass. Just AWESOME, with photos and video to come. Ashley was very spoilt as this was his first ever multipitch. Nick's whoops of joyous fun as he rounded the roof onto 70m of buckets on pitch 6 & 7 was something to remember. Even the abseils in were memorable.‬ ‪Everyone got to climb lots of very nice 3,4 & 5 star climbs at various crags. Julian's comment was that he now has SO MUCH more on his to do list aptly sums up the trip. Well done to Breanne and Tom getting onto the pointy end of leading and Solvej leading a couple of 18s. Ashley, Julian, Nick and myself did enjoy the "orange rock' with grades to suit, not withstanding the occassional airtime :) Damn those grade 22 overhangs. ‬ ‪Rain led to an abortive attempt at the classic Sweet Dreams (grade 14 multipitch) on Sublime Point for a number of people and a hilarious go-pro of Johnny backing off Whymper (grade 19) in rain.‬ ‪Colleen and Glenn made the most of their few days there with some great climbing and Marty breezed in from Parks to show everyone how to climb a 22 in style, even after not climbing much in the last few months.‬ ‪One must mention that the cooking at the house was of a culinary standard more akin to MKR than dirtbag camping and that Nick devoured more than his share of the NSW beef herd. The awesome pies at the pub went down pretty well with a beer after climbing as well. The coffee supplies at Blackheathe are only now being replenished.‬ ‪My highlights have to be Bunny Bucket Buttress (Pierces Pass), Jack High (19), Flaming Flamingo (20) and Nude Tuesday (21) at Upper Shipley as well as Little Triggers (19) and Go Lotto (20) at Bardens Lookout. Oh and the west side at New York and the 19s at Mezzaluna wall at Mt York and ..... well bloody well all of it .‬ ‪If you weren't there you missed out and if you were there awesome‬ ‪Graham‬
