Maroon
Next weekend on Sunday 13, the BRC trip is scheduled for Viewpoint Buttress on Mt Maroon.
Maroon is a half hour past Frog (so 1.5 to 2 hours south west of Brisbane)
Let the committee know if you are interested.
It is trad gear with the lower grades being 16-18. There is only a couple climbs below this grade.
Please reply by Tuesday evening so I can finalise planning in case another venue is needed.We're also still looking for recent trip photos

Hi AllWe're looking for photos and trip reports from BRC trips. You can either give Sean a CD, DVD, email or flash or ask for info on how to directly upload to the site.Remember we are still looking for confirmations for the Nowra Trip. We now a decent sized party going.Nowra - September 20 (Sun)- Sept. 26 (Sat)
Nowra climbing is steep (vertical) climbing on short sandstone cliffs and has a lot of hard climbing. locationmap
Don't be put off by that as it is mainly sports climbing with
enough easier & mid grades to keep everyone busy for a five day
stay, without having to climb grade 20 or more.

Northern KP Redevelopment (TAFE site ) Consultation Meeting this Saturday (May 30) + Other News
Dennis has received advice from Helen Abrahams, (Councillor for The Gabba Ward), that there will be a public consultation meeting
on Saturday (30/5/09) from 10am to 1pm at the old TAFE site at the northern end of Kangaroo Point. The club has also been approached by Adam Gibson from the Queensland chapter of the Australian Climbing Association to ask members to attend this event to promote greater access to the cliffs below:
...Thus far, climbing has been very noticeably absent on the
literature surrounding the redevelopment despite in-depth submissions
made by the Australian Climbing Association and QUT cliffhangers
rockclimbing club.
This does not bode well for climbers and unless we take some
action and make ourselves ...
