Welcome to the official website of the Brisbane Rockclimbing Club.

The Brisbane Rockclimbing Club was originally founded in 1965, but was re-established in its present form in 1987 as a means of promoting communication and social interactions between climbers.

We no longer regularly update the site with trip reports, access issues, and planned events, as almost all of our communication is through our Facebook Group which can be found here

New subscribers to the club are welcome, please see our Subscription page.

The weather here is really starting to warm up  but we have one more club trip , this weekend, Sat. Oct  25th to Ngun Ngun and a BBQ at Kangaroo Point on Nov. 15th. • 2014 so far Well it's been a pretty good 2014 climbing wise. The start was a bit washed out but good weather at Brooyar in March brought out the hordes, with everyone getting lots of climbing under their belts. The Tibro weekend had to be cancelled due to the bushfires which turned the mountain into a shooting range, but all seems good now.  A day trip to Frog was well attended with many 1st timers having a go at the joys of jamming :) Easter saw the BRC at Nowra and Pt Perpendicular and all that can be said is ... awesome. We scored 2 perfect days at Pt Perp which was the highlight for most folk. Points go to a couple of the ...

  • BRC 2014 Trips and Info Welcome to another year of climbing.  2014 promises to be another mega year of trips for the club. We have trips to Brooyar, Urbenville, Girraween, Frog Buttress, lots of crags in the Glasshouse Mts, Mt Maroon, Tinbeerwah and Red Cliffs/Goanna Pt. As well as this plethora of climbing we are again doing 2 big trips this year. Easter (10 days) will be spent at Nowra and Pt Perpendicular, camping at Nowra. After the successful and fun filled trip to Arapiles last year, we are again heading down there in late September for 2 weeks at the best climbing crag you may ever visit. There is also an added temptation of extending the Arapiles trip for an extra week (or ...

  • Ngungun Club Trip Oct. 27 2013 It ended up being a successful trip, with a cool breeze and plenty of climbers at the different crags. People climbed at Andromeda (sport), Flat Battery area (sport) and on the main cliffs (trad). We welcomed a number of new members to their first club trip and they were so impressed, many have headed up to Ngungun in the following weeks. Well done to those new to trad climbing who seconded up a number of 50m beard stroking, old school classics. The route names say it all - Rubber Soul, Deep Purple, Angie, Sticky Fingers etc. They had enthralling lessons in thutching, grunting, some jamming, chimneying, getting gear out and general all round fun. Our visiting friend from Hong Kong, Ines ...

  • Arapiles Sept. 2013 Well the club had an awesome trip to Arapiles ...again, this year. This trip saw 7 newcomers to the magical place of climbing called Arapiles and all of them want another trip next year. Lots of 3 star climbs were climbed along with many many metres of enjoyable climbing. One could list a cavalcade of climbs done in the 2 weeks such as Scorpion, Thunder Crack, Eurydice, Watchtower Crack, Resignation, Lamplighter, The Shroud - sort of  ha ha, Missing Link, Eskimo Nell, Muldoon, Checkmate, Little Dinosaur, King Rat, Hot Flap, The Bard, Dirge, Piccolo, Conifer Crack, D Minor, Surface to Air, Agent Orange  etc etc. We climbed everyday except one really wet Wednesday and that was spent at the Grampians under ...

  • Blue Mts Trip - Easter 2013 Well all one can say is -  A Very Successful 10 days of climbing. Everyone who went had a great time. We all got to do some awesome climbs, pushed our grades and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Not even some drizzle on 2 days stopped the climbing, as we climbed in the wet mist till it turned to rain then headed for the overhangs of Centennial Glen. The highlight for Julian, Nick , Ashley and myself was cruising Bunny Bucket Buttress, a grade 18, 270m 8 pitch climb at the uber Pierces Pass. Just AWESOME, with photos and video to come. Ashley was very spoilt as this was his first ever multipitch. Nick's whoops of joyous fun as he rounded the roof ...
